VOX POPS oral history training company has now completed its work for the project, training 16 adults and 70 children in the techniques and technologies of interviewing. They worked in three primary schools - Scholes, Lindley and Crosland Moor and two secondary schools - Almondbury and Holmfirth high schools. Among the children's interviewees have been current players Aaron Murphy, David Faiumu, Jason Chan and Pete Aspinall, and ex-players Ian Van Bellen, Dave Weavill, Tony Johnson and Andy Wilson.
In total the project has recorded over 80 full interviews, plus 133 short interviews by none primary school children prior to the home match against Bradford Bulls, designated a ‘Sporting Memories Match’ to promote the use of sporting memories to combat dementia.
